This week everyone's been talking about the woman (it was actually lifecaster Justine!), who received a 300-page iPhone bill from AT&T in a box. The enormous bill was due in part to the fact that AT&T had a policy of recording every single text message, data transaction, and every phone call their customer's make and printing each on a separate line of their bill. For people using the iPhone's many applications, that means a book-sized report if you don't opt for web billing.
In an effort to save trees and avoid ridicule, AT&T will now default customers to a "summary" bill, according to USA Today. If you still haven't watched the video of Justine showing off her bill (she claims she sends 35,000 text messages a month!), read more

With all this "Save the Environment" going on, I'm appaled At&T actally did this...
1A lot of tree huggers are going to be mad...
What was the bill amount?!
2Cingular was no different before they joined with AT&T.
The bill amount probably wasn't too bad --- her monthly plan plus the $20 iPhone data plan and, hopefully, the $10 unlimited texting. It's just that, as geek pointed out, they meticulously document everything.
Our online bill is pretty lengthy due to the fact that my husband and I are on a family plan and they detail each phone number. I can't imagine what our bill would look like if we had paper billing!
3that's scary..
4she said her bill was about 287..... but who knows what kind of plan she got....because my first iphone bill was only 78.00
5i'm glad at&t is doing something about this
6That is absurd! And who sends that many texts in a month! damn
7wow
8Please...just tell me this, who in God's name has time to text 35,000 times in one month?!?
9WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! Who texts that much a month thats insane!
10but see - if they don't show people what they have texted (texted? text? texed?) people say that they didn't text this or that, so they contest their phone bills. i agree that it uses up a lot of paper - maybe people should have online billing more?!
11yeah im gonna call my phone company and opt out for paper billing...
12man, that was a major waste of paper
13When does she work? Because she keeps saying the word WASTE. But it is a waste of time to send 35,000 text messages in a MONTH. Now that is just ridiculous. And she sounds crazy for that one. Doesn't she have a home phone, or is it that maybe people just won't answer when she calls their home or cell phone. Therefore she keeps up the constant texting to them ALL DAY LONG.
14Wow, that's alot of text messages.
1535,000??? that's so ridiculous!
16that's 1,167 texts a DAY!
