Geek Out: How Many Facebook Friends Do You Have?

Last night's episode of South Park was all about Facebook. Titled "You Have 0 Friends," the episode kicks off with the guys bragging about how many Facebook friends they each have, and surprising Stan with his own page. Unfortunately for them, Stan wants nothing to do with the phenomenon in fear of getting "sucked in" (I can totally relate, pal). Meanwhile, Cartman, Kyle, and Kenny talk about how cool social network is with all of its games and features. It got me wondering if you've ever bragged about how many online friends you have? I've got 216 "friends" on FB, although I have less than 10 "true" friends IRL. I use Facebook to keep in touch with old classmates and people I've worked or organized events with. Since they have varied backgrounds and interests, I always find out about something different through their posts :)

I have over a thousand hahaha yeah and most of them are people don't know but need them as friends for certain games.

I have like 22 but I only opened it a few days ago. Whenever I see ppl with like 500 friends I always wonder if they actually are friends with these people or just like to have a big number.

I have like 70 friends. Facebook hasn't really taken over in Germany yet. There is another social networking site where I have closer to 200 friends. Out of my FB friends I actually know most of them well, though. I always laugh when I see someone has like 400 friends. Are you going to invite all of them to your wedding? Just me and my closest 400 friends? Or do you just invite everyone you ever spoke a word with?

I like social networks and all, but its not about the #. Even if you've got a ton of friends on FB if nothing is going on on your wall then people can see you're still a loser! jk!
