Since When Did Bank Machines Get So Personal?

What's wrong with this picture? So I was walking home from work yesterday and I happened to notice this unusual sight; an old school bank machine talking in the first person with "I"! Too funny! Whatever happened to "this machine is temporarily unavailable"? Kinda makes me think that someone is trying to make "machines" offer a friendlier user experience, but rather than make things easier, you can't help but turn your head and go, huh? You talking to me?! Is there a little man inside there? Oh Mr. Technology, you're so cheeky.

When I first opened an account with WaMu, I was surprised by how friendly their machines were. It was strange at first but now I'm used to it and think it's cute.

I hate "friendly machines" I think they're completely unnecessary.

You must not bank with WaMu. Their ATM machines are a little too friendly. Their prompts read "Please give me your secret code" instead of "Enter your PIN". And instead of "Yes/No", it's "Sure/No Thanks". It kinda bugs me too.

When I was in the military and was let off the ship for some free time, the ATMs in Singapore (I think) use your first name! It was like, "Welcome, Megan. How can I help you today?". Too weird.
