Got a formal event to go to? Sure, you could get your boyfriend (or yourself, pardon me) a classy pair of cufflinks, but chances are they'll be boring as all get-out and won't be any sort of conversation starter.

Classy and novelty simply dont go together. It really depends on the vibe of the wedding. These would be great for wedding crashers... lol there are a couple other places where you can get some funky cufflinks. i think that these are a no go. i think that if you are going to an event that you need to wear cuff links, to wear these would completely undermine the whole point of the fancy affair.
