Are You Buying a Console Now That Prices Have Been Cut?

Hot damn! In the course of a couple weeks, we've seen both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 drop in price significantly, as well as the new, cheaper PS3 Slim option.

I have a ton of friends who previously couldn't stomach the high prices of either console, and either went for a cheaper system (hello, Wii), or decided to wait. And now? The wait is over it seems, as I've heard an echo of many saying that they're now taking the shot since the price cuts were announced.

What about you? Have the price drops convinced you of either the Xbox's or PS3's worthiness?

I bought a Wii a year ago. I love it. Wouldn't mind getting a PS3 but there isn't that many games in their library. I like the 360 because they have a better game library but the ps3 can do a lot more things

no, i'm going to wait longer. i remember being so eager to have a PS2 but my gaming has dropped off a lot over the last year. at $499 still (in australia) its still too expensive for only casual usage sadly. a big factor to is no backwarkwards compatability to PS2 games, i can't even trade my old PS2 in on the price as i would still need it.

I thought about buying a PS3 slim, but I don't feel like moving stuff around since the size is so awkward and it can't "stand up" easily. Plus I don't really see any games I want to play on it. I am thinking about getting another 360 for the upper floors of my house.

I was waiting until the prices went down because I don't believe in sending too much for a game console that will eventually collect dust. So now I can say I'll be picking one up. I'm not cheap, but I just don't believe in spending too much for a game.

My initial choice for the Wii was all about investing in a machine that pushed the boundaries in innovation rather than just churning out reiterations of the same pap. The price was never an issue, so I think I'll be sticking to the Wii.

I am definitely going to be getting the new PS3 slim. I have been waiting forever for a drop in prices, and this seems like the best opportunity. And then I'm buying the new Batman Asylum game so I can play as Joker, since that is an exclusive option with Sony. Too bad my Xbox doesn't come with perks like that.

Ooooh I want a PS3 so bad, but as it is I rarely have enough throwing around money to spend on games for the 360 and the Wii. I don't even remember the last time I bought a game for one of my older systems and those games are (mostly) cheap!

i want an xbox and the price drop helps but i was going to buy it used anyway. just means i can possibly buy new now? i don't know about the ps3. i can't afford to buy games on all 3 platforms, that's insane! but i do want a psp. before the year is over i'll have added at least one to my collection.
