This was the first time I had been back to New York since I moved to the West Coast 15 years ago. The city had changed so much I barely recognized it. These are some of my favorite shots from that trip. The graininess in the photos are more of a result of the fog than of any editing done. For most of the shots I used the cameras filters to get the sepia and black and white and then just did minimal brightening, and contrasting.

Awesome shot! I used to live in the West Village and walked past this view of the Hudson almost every day but so rarely took the time to actually stop and appreciate it. Akasha definitely captured the feel of a New York winter. Love the use of light and contrast that make the shot feel gritty and comforting at the same time. Doesn't get more NY than that.
