Paramount Steps Into the Gaming Industry With Popular Chick-Flick Games

Paramount is not only trying to dip into the video-game world, but it's also going after a female audience by introducing three games inspired by girlie movies — Clueless, Mean Girls, and Pretty in Pink. These first few games will be developed in conjunction with Legacy Interactive.

No word on what console the games will be designed for or what the user experience will be like just yet, although BuzzSugar has her predictions!

More games are said to be in the making and even more to come next year!

I love video games and I love all three movies, but combining them just seems wrong. Like peas and whipped cream.

I really hope they release them for PC and not just console systems, I'd totally give them a try just for the fun of it. I don't know how they'll do, overall, but as geek becomes more chic corporations are realizing that there are untapped segments of the population and are seeking bridges; in this case towards the non-gamer girls out there.

why don't they create a WNBA game? Or Women's Fifa? Hell, make a women's rugby game or something. How about a chick in halo? Or a super spy female game? Tomb Raider was my fave game to play back in the day, but even then, the double d's were a little on the chauvinistic side. I mean, these are the same loser developers that put out that volleyball game with the girls and the bouncing boobs, and other crap like that... I mean, they could have used Charlie's Angels instead of Mean Girls..

I loved those movies when I was younger so I look forward to revisiting them as games. I am not a huge gamer like my husband--or even my kids--but I will definitely give them a try!!

I haven't really been into video games until my husband and I got a Wii, the controller is much easier for me to use and I love playing games on it. I know I'm not a typical female gamer, but I'd be interested in the mean girls game, assuming it kept the biting humor of the movie. I usually hate girlie movies and such things, but that movie had me dying of laughter!

I'd totally be interested in a Clueless or Mean Girls video game :) I'm not a typical "female gamer", though. I do play my boyfriend's xbox 360 way more than he does, but the only games I play on it are American Idols Karaoke Revolution, Scene It, and Dance Dance Revolution... I find the actual xbox controller confusing so I don't use it. And I'm all about making everything pink :D

Yeah I don't see how these games would be interesting at all... I guess I'm not the intended audience though. When I was much younger, I did have Mary Kate & Ashley games and Barbie games. Even then, I thought they were kind of lame lol.

Ugh, do they really think that the same girls who are interested in joining popular girls and wearing mini-skirts modeled by Lohan are the same girls who are into games? I'm not saying that all female gamers are tomboys, but I think game developers should make more of an effort in girl-games than "Let's make everything pink!" Why not something with a strong female lead (whose boobs are ginormous), some adventure, maybe some magic and swords? Frankly, Mean Girls the video game is kind of insulting.
