How Did You Follow the Olympics: TV or the Internet?

With the 2008 Beijing Olympics freshly behind us, it's time to muse over how the games changed this time around. From a tech perspective, things were monumentally different. Today's Internet allowed people to follow along online and stream the Olympic games — to boot, NBCOlympics.com streamed over 2,200 live hours of games!

I have friends who watched the Olympics only on the Internet, and some who watched it the old-fashioned way — on TV. It's fantastic that we live in a time where we have that option; so now, tell me: How did you get your Summer Olympics?

My laptop was in front of me while I watched. I also went online at work. I love watching the Olympics. I'm sad this year's Olympics is over.

I didn't watch it! Free Tibet and Free Burma! The Chinese government used the Olympic games to promote their corrupt agenda and image and the world decided to ignore that, just like they did in 1936 with the Berlin Olympics when Hitler didn't allow non-Aryans to compete.

Both - I watched some highlights on tv when I could, and caught up with the rest of whatever I wanted to see on BBC.

I used both to watch this year. We made an effort to watch the swimming and gymnastic events on TV, but there were some we missed. Plus I liked seeing recaps and highlights online. When I first went to the NBC Olympics site and entered my cable info, it told me I couldn't watch the videos because I wasn't subscribed to the right provider. So I changed my subscription info and it let me watch them. Why make that restriction if its so easy to get around it? I don't know.

The Olympics are a sham. World relations are terrible and the only reason the games continue is because there is too much money to be made.

i'm stealing my wireless right now so it's too slow for me to stream. but i preferred to watch on line so i could hear the annoying commentators!

Both. CBC could only show so much on television and was really good about airing the rest online.

I watched most through internet.But i think it´s a shame what NBC is doing, forbidding videos on Youtube!I practice Tae kwon Do and most of the fights were while i was asleep or at work, so i couldn´t watch them. I thought i could watch them later, and study the fights, but thanks to NBC no one can watch the games again. And i thought the chinese were the dictators...
