Captain EO Makes a Big Return in 3D at Disneyland

Captain EO was introduced to Disneyland parkgoers back in 1986. I remember it being one of the highlights of my Disneyland trips over the years and was pretty bummed when it was replaced by Honey, I Shrunk the Audience! Thankfully, I can now relive my childhood, since Michael Jackson and Captain EO are back in action!

Beginning today, the original 17-minute 3D musical is back on the screen in its "Tomorrowland" home at Disneyland. Catch Michael Jackson and Anjelica Huston in this updated version (and throw down for some merch), which boasts a new 70mm print of the film (verses its original 35mm) and better sound quality thanks to some renovations to the theater. You'll still be sporting those red and blue 3D glasses instead of the fancy ones you got while seeing Avatar, but who cares? — it's Michael Jackson in 3D!

His innocence - too complex for most people to understand, exposed Michael to liars, thieves and opportunists, many of whom showed their true colours after his death. But after everything, it’s what Michael gave us that we remember. And for the generations to come who will never know what we had, maybe the music and Captain EO is as close as they will get to knowing the essence of who Michael was. Tom Sneddon pursued this man for over 15 years without cause. He was refused permission to prosecute Michael by 3 grand juries in 1993, due to a lack of evidence and credible witness, so he kept an open file on Michael and spent millions searching the world for other so-called 'victims.' He found none. In 2005, using the flimsiest of pretexts Sneddon went to trial. 10 across-the-board verdicts later, Michael would be dead less than 4 and 1/2 years after being acquitted. Those who call this man a molester demonstrate a profound and almost staggering ignorance of the facts of Mr Jackson's life. Both the FBI and the LAPD found no evidence of criminal wrongdoing after over 10 years of investigation, and a conservative jury in predominantly Republican Santa Barbara found Michael not guilty on all counts. But yet people who have done no research, did not sit on the jury, and have read no serious accounts of the events of 1993 and 2005 - persist in refuting the verdicts and evidence of one of the best intelligence gathering agencies in the world. We must never forget what was done to Michael Jackson - and to his children, now living without their father. The man was innocent.

man! are they bringing it back to epcot too in orlando? i am a florida girl and used to disney a lot when i was a kid...this would be fun to see again. i wonder if i will still jump when the lady comes out of the screen with her nails at you
