Low Tech Organizers — For Those Non Geek Moments

With the new year in sight I've started thinking about my calendars and organizational tools. While I use my computer, BlackBerry and iPhone for my personal and work calendars I still pick up a yearly organizer where I can jot down special dates and goals.

While it's harder to change appointments in a "low tech organizer" it is nice to flip through the pages and look at a year in one place without having to click through different windows.

One of my favorite organizers is this Kate Spade Organizer $55. It doesn't have calendar dates printed on it, but it's perfect for making To Do lists. For some additional cute organizers scroll through the widget below.

ditto tdamji. my planner's also a muji that i got on one of my trips to asia. i love the craft paper feel of it and because my bag is always too heavy, the muji planner is lighter than the leather filofax i used to use. speaking of which...time to get refills for the new year. even if i change over to a pda/iphone/treo i don't think i'll ever stop using a lo tech planner. i love paper too much. (and yes the soho store's the first in north america...and mere blocks from my apartment! :D)

i got mine at Muji in Hong Kong a few weeks ago. i have been looking at it and wanting it since the beginning of my trip in november and finally bought it on my last day in asia. i love muji and they don't have many stores in north america so it is extra special. the paper is so smooth and beautiful. it is actually a separate day timer with 5 days on a page and a blank dotted-line page on the right hand so there's lots of room for to-dos for the week or a general notes section. i added in one of muji's plain dotted graph paper notebooks as well. i like it because there is a nice cover in tan with brown stripes on it, velcro, a small zipped area for pens or bank cards/credit cards and i can put loose paper inside without things falling out. love the ribbon, too. i think it was around $15-20 only! i can order new inserts for 2009 calendar next year and use the outside again and again so it is really great in that way!! muji has a new store in soho - the first in north america?!

When it comes to planners, I am totally an old fashioned pen and paper girl. I tried the palm pilot, but in a month I had slacked off with that. I'm sooooo excited because for Christmas I got an adorable Vera Bradley Weekly Planner!

i have the 8 days a week calendar, adn i love it. they extra "someday" column is useful because i can write big projects, things i need to get, or little notes to myself. each day has a time slot with allows me to write brackets around my classes and whats due on that day, plus plan sorority stuff. it really helps me -i'd highly recommend it.

I just LOVE to make to-do lists, so my calendars always need to have a full page of space for me to write lists. (I don't always do them, but I do like to have them written down.)

i found my planner at a really cute paper shop in venice beach. the best planner i've found post-college. monthly and weekly, satin bookmarks, and a very chic look. and really affordable since it's 17 months. check it out here, i got mine in platinum!: MyAgenda

although i have several computerized or online date books - i do the same and pick up a real 'writing' type datebook.

I like my moleskine daily planner. I need to record my hours at work and what I work on, where I drive, etc. It works best with one page per day. I have tried electronically, but my brain does not think that way.
