Akihabaranews recently reported that Samsung has released this colorful red with gold accent washing machine designed by Andre Kim. Designer clothes, designer hand bags and now designer appliances? While I love a trendy new gadget, I'm a little perplexed about this new fad. What do you think about this growing trend? Is it worth spending the extra bucks to completely bling out your home? Or is this washing machine so adorable that you'd make an exception and splurge?

I love it!
1Functionality is #1 when it comes to household appliances. I don't care if it has a big ol' red K on it for K-Mart as long as it works very well and has brilliant features.
If it worked as well as its non-designer counterparts, I might pay extra for a nice design. I love nice-looking things, and if they make me happier about doing housework it's worth it.

7cgmaetc-- I was thinking of how I could adapt this idea and you're right-- contact paper could work great. Hmmm... will have to look into that. But, money aside, if I could afford that appliance pictured above, I would buy it! I love it!

10Samsung sucks... the DONT honor warranty, and their service dept leaves much to be desired. I will NEVER buy another Samsung product again!
