Ouya ($99) is an Android-based, open-source gaming system that's ready to seriously disrupt the gaming market. Last year, the gaming platform kicked off its Kickstarter campaign, which raised over $8.5 million. Now this little console cube is hitting the big time, with a Target deal that started late October. Ouya just announced a special, limited-edition white version ($130), which will deliver by Christmas Day as long as it is preordered by Dec. 8.
At under $100, it's an extremely affordable device (especially when compared to the $400 PlayStation 4 and $500 Xbox One). All of its games are available in 1080p and completely free to try. Since it is Android-based, Ouya can run the platform's apps and stream TV shows, music, and movies onto the big screen as well.
You won't get any triple-A titles like Call of Duty but there are plenty of fantastic indie offerings for Ouya.
