I was all over my favorite faux URLs from movies a couple of weeks ago, but I have their king, courtesy of upcoming movie Julie and Julia. The film, which parallels the lives of famous chef Julia Child and her admirer years later, blogger Julie Powell, is based on a true story, but the technology isn't, necessarily.
Her blogging platform in the movie is a fakey called "Blogspot@salon.com", a seeming mash-up of Google's Blogger/Blogspot service and Salon, which did provide Powell's platform. So tricky, that Hollywood.
NYTimes has the scoop on the history of Julie's real-life platform, if you're interested. And if you want to check out the trailer with the ersatz platform, just read more.

3hi iam aedimon frm morocco i havent seen this movie yet how ever i see some scenes of this movie i guess it's nice movie iam waiting to see it
4This movie touched me so deep that I was inspired by Julie's courage of keep on cooking whether or not it's just a project of something she would never think of accomplish it, or finding her new direction of life at her early 30s.
I, myself, a 31 years old single mom, recently started my own business and it all seems to go so well that I got to work less than 20 hours a week now, literally, and yet once upon a hot steaming summer day a friend came to me for help on promoting his friends factory's products internationally. Another day of discussion for the new branded products, a suggestion came from my dearest mother, a person normally stayed quiet most of the time, watching me growing my business and planning for the new, suggested why not collect all the good products and make them our own brand instead of promoting them one factory at a time and it's not even mine to brag about.
So much about the movie, and my comments are, I truly admire Julie, though she's no more than a character in that movie, however in reality, the story was true, and it did inspired me of keep on working for something I believe. So I am thinking of setting up a blog and write my way through the entire process of building up a brand name company, it may not be the same metaphors like it was in the movie but it sure gives me something to keep up and to remind myself; whether or not if anyone is going to comment.
Although one thing I am having such great trouble settling down with the project countdown widget or software or even tool that I can put on to the blog like the ones in the movie...any knows what should I do about it!?
5I am additionally inspired by this movie and although disappointed by the "fake-y" website remain undeterred. It has been a dream, now plan, to begin writing a book at the turn of the year.
I was undecided as to what to write until my wife suggested one involving my life...others have previously and equally conveyed. An autobiography it is. It was my wish to share my experience as is in the movie so I will research (as usual).
