Sure, you know Steve Jobs, the Woz, and Bill Gates, but do you know the name Ajay Bhatt? He invented the USB, and in this new commercial from Intel he's being given the celebrity treatment — a premise that's equal parts inspiring and amusing.

M-systems comment is likely talking about the USB Flash Drive commonly known as the USB Thumb Drive. From my research the Universal Serial Bus USB was known about as early as 1994. The only true fact about this is that a number of companies teamed up in it's creation, Microsoft, Intel, etc. It was officially released January 1996 and put into production February 1996. USB 1.0 was likely invented sometime in 1995 as the general media was well informative of it's existence.

i'm not a computer nerd, but i am an architecture nerd, and i was blown away by the design of that room as seen from the outside in the first second of the ad. does anyone know if that is really the intel building or if they just cg'ed it for the commercial? i can't find anything on it on the web.
