How-To: Turn Off Google Instant Search

Today's announcement from Google brought a pretty big change in the way we search. Google Instant is amazing, and amazingly fast, but not everyone is as excited about change as Google is. If you're not a fan of the fast-loading, search-predicting new feature, there is a way to turn it off.

Find out how after the jump.

Once you begin typing your search, Instant will . . . well, instantly take over, beginning to populate what it thinks you're searching for and producing results. However, you can turn off Instant results by clicking on the control button to the right of the search bar, which tells you that Instant is either "on" or "off." Additionally, you can turn it off in your search preferences page, where you can turn Instant on or off and select other settings like filtering, number of results, and language. Good news is, you can always go back to Instant if you've readied yourself for the big change.
