How Low Would You Go for Your Cell Phone?

How low would you go for your cell...literally?! This woman decided she just couldn't bear the idea of parting with her phone, even if it meant taking a head first dive into an outhouse—pee eww! Sometimes I experience slow motion play-by-play images in my head of my phone falling into a toilet, which gives me heart palpitations. Seriously though, does this lady honestly think her "soiled" phone is worth retrieving? Is it really going to work? I don't think I could "go there"... even if it was my iPhone! Not gory enough? My cellphone? No. No way in HELL.My 30 gigabyte iPod with ridiculously extended Warranty or my Nintendo DS....well....no, I wouldn't dive in. But I'd fish them out, somehow.However, I'd love to know how the *#()$ someone drops their electronics in an OUTHOUSE as is? I mean, seriously....What the hell were they thinking?And why is he only in his underwear, shoes, and socks?

That's beyond disgusting. Did she even consider what kind of bacteria and parasites might be festering down there? The phone is already dead; not worth retrieving it.

I wouldn't DIVE into the hole to get it. I'd use a pole, or get a janitor to help me out, or at the very least wear a mask and gloves before trying anything.

I feel you paula. I used to work for a service provider and peopel would come in and deny getting it wet with the big, red, liquid damamge indicator staring at them. Used to make me so mad! I def. would not go in an outhouse for my phone!

Sad thing is ... there's not much WATER in an outhouse. I could see a toilet - that's not too bad. But how ya gonna get all that feces and urine out of it? And ever hold it back up to your head again. Yes, retail, people do stupid things all for their replaceable OBJECTS.

several months ago, this really happened in the news in my country: a few students were playing by the monsoon drain after school and one of their cell phones fell into the drain. fearing the wrath of their parents, one of them jumped into the drain to try and get the phone back. he drowned and his body found days later.

ok i work at a cell service and repair center and this stuff happens all the time. the worse part is they don't tell me until i have already touched it and opened the phone to find it is water damaged and they go oh yeah i dropped it in the toilet,port a potty or baby diaper, or my dog peed on it and so on. So I keep a bottle of hand sanatizer in about 5 diffrent places in my office and use it after i touch a phone cause you never know and I don't want to get sick or come down with a crazy dieases. All I have to say is come clean with the tech cause believe me we have probably already seen it before and it is just courteous. Treat us with Respect and we will try to fix it or get your contacts out but lie and try to trick us and we are not as willing to help.

I dropped mine once because it was in my jacket pocket. I rescued it, but it didn't work anymore, so I had to get a new one. Now my cheap butt pays for the insurance. p.s. where the heck do they still have outhouses??!?

No. Freaking. Way. Not even for my Crackberry. And while we're on the subject, who makes pictures of that? Probably the same people who take drunk pictures, put them on MySpace and then wonder why they get fired/don't get that promotion/insert consequence here.
