1991 — PowerBook 100 Series

The PowerBook 100, 140, and 170 were the first three PowerBooks ever released. The backlit LCD display had a 640 x 400 screen resolution (the iPhone 4, by comparison, has a 960 x 560 display). There was no built-in floppy disk drive (remember those?), and the computer's design was considered unique because the trackball controlling the cursor was in front of the keyboard, rather than to the side.
