Geeky Things I Love: Decorated Laptops

Updated 05/30/07 10:00 PM · Posted by GeekSugar · 26 comments

Ursula5977 recently shared some fabulous photos of my new favorite geeky crafts project: Her decorated Macbook. She says:

Out of boredom and lack of a hobby, I took the liberty of rhinestoning my beloved MacBook! It's almost to the point of tacky, but I absolutely love it. Instead of paying upwards of $1,400 to have it rhinestoned for me, I personalized it myself.

Have you decorated your laptop? Have you been to a geeky museum exhibit recently or run across funny gadgets while traveling? Share your photos, news, geeky crafts, reviews and tips with geeksugar and I'll feature my favorites on the homepage. To learn how to post your finds to the Geeky Things I Love, read more

I know that this long list looks scary, but trust me, once you get the hang of it, it'll be a snap the second time around.

  7. Add keyword(s) (for example mine for this post was "laptop, Geeky Things I love")
  8. Click on the "Add Image" link below the "body" box

  10. Once you have the image chosen, click "Submit"
  11. The popup will show you your image, choose size: "normal" - if you want, you can give it a title (which will show up as a caption)
  12. Click "Insert" and the popup will go away
  13. Your "body" box will now have some text in it. Leave it as is. If you want to add some text before the picture telling me why you love the download, do it before the code that has appeared.

How cute you are. I like the apple covered in stones and I like the roses on the inside.
I once did my blackberry in crystals and man was that a pain in the rear. A couple times I dropped my phone and the crystals went flying. It cost me about $50-60 to have three different colors cover the entire blackberry. It got A LOT of attention - but I don't think I will do that trend again when I get another blackberry.

It's not tacky at all, very girly and elegant instead ;)
That's fantastic! I'd love to decorate the laptop in this house, but it doesn't belong to me. :(
