Some people may go to extremes to buy the gadgets they love. We've all heard the stories of Apple fans sitting outside for days in the cold for the iPhone, and others plunking down hundreds of dollars to scalpers for the latest game console that isn't available on store shelves. Have you ever gone the distance to get your hand on a gadget that you just couldn't live without? Would you eat Top Ramen every day for every meal until you got it? Based on national facts, the average person in the US makes around $46,000 dollars a year, which will barely get you a Ferrari Phone to tote around. So just for fun — and keeping in mind this is not including any of your other financial obligations — let's see how long the average American would have to live on Top Ramen to get their hands on the ultimate gadgets.

Ramen is the food of the collegiate gods! We've all had to live on it for a while at some point. :) I could do it. It's pretty filling, so I'm sure I'd mostly just drink water anyway.

I've lived on Ramen before simply because I've had to. So, it wouldn't be that big of a deal to me to do so for a gadget, but I just don't have the luxury of doing so, regardless. However, I'm not all about the "expensive" gadgets. I have my iPod, my DS, and a cheap AT&T GoPhone. My DS can serve as an organizer & my phone does what I need it to. My gadgets get the job done, maybe a little less efficiently than a spiffy iPhone or CrackBerry, but I'm okay with that (^-^) However, it would be nice if I could just live on Ramen to save up for a CloudBook.

I don't think I'd ever sacrifice my health for a gadget. The most I've ever done was make my fiance stand in line for my iPhone.

OMG. When I first went to college, I was paying a lot of out of pocket expense. I bought 10 boxes of Ramen. I made it every which way. With rice, as a soup, mixing it with raw veggies, etc. I hate this stuff now, the smell gets to me, the taste makes me gag.
