The Flip Mino Now Available in High-Def!

Pure Digital Technologies, the masterminds behind the popular Flip Mino, have just announced their latest addition: The Flip MinoHD.

With this tiny pocket-sized camcorder, you can now shoot and capture beautiful HD video on the go and then easily upload the footage to YouTube, TeamSugar, or MySpace with Flip Video's new FlipShare software (which is both PC and Mac friendly and it allows you to make edits to the videos).

The camera costs $230 and can record up to 60 minutes of HD video. Is it just me or do I smell a perfect holiday must have?!

The Flip HD is not the only pocket camcorder. There are better priced pocket HD camcorders that come with better specs and longer warranty from more established brands such as Kodak, Creative or even Sanyo. I saw a few video uploads at vimeo.com that demonstarted a very capable little HD camcorder, most likely the new Creative Vado HD. I agree that it is ugly as sin but from my experience with the older model I would LOVE to have one of these. They are so tiny!

This is such a great idea for a Christmas gift... I would love to get one for my mom but I don't know that I want to spend $230 on one gift... MAYBE if I'm feeling nice I'll get her the regular one for $180... lol. :P

Is it just me or that Flip really looks old school? It has such an ugly design in the front! Sorry guys, it's a nice device, but I'm looking for something cuter. :)
