Crime in the age of Facebook is a little bit different. Because of the ability to connect and disclose your location so quickly, it has its problems (like becoming an accidental target) and advantages — remember the status update that proved a teen's innocence?
Now, a new report from Georgia details how one college student was able to call for help via Facebook. When intruders entered the home he shared with his grandmother and younger sister, the intrepid Facebook user ran to the attic undetected with his laptop, and posted "HELLLLLP" as his Facebook status. Concerned friends called police, and responded to the burglary, stopping it in the process.
