Does Your Office Use Macs or PCs?

The writers of the whip-smart Jezebel blog revealed their home office workspaces last week, and what I was most pleased to see was that they almost all use Macs. I have worked in offices where we used all PCs or all Macs (guess where I was happier?); in fact, I became a Mac convert after being exposed to them in an office setting.

It can be hard to have to use one when you're used to the other, leading to more calls to IT, frustration, and sometimes, switching teams. What does your office use?

I was surprised when I started my new job and found all the computers to be rather swanky iMacs. They are loaded not only with the Apple version of "MicroSoft Office", but also have the Mac compatibles for the office suit I have used since high school. Macs and PCs are like apples and oranges, some like one, some the other, some like both, and others can't stand either. Personally, I am glad that I have to use it at home because it makes me more proficient with the Mac I have sitting at home. The iMacs and MacMinis take up far less desk space than any PC I've used, including laptops.

my office uses macs and i have a macbook and a pc at home. there isn't much frustration involved in the switch, but i do prefer using macs. they tend to *choke* less

As a teacher, my school has these old, farty, Department of Education PCs. But I'm trying to get a few Macs, for my classroom at least. I do love them a lot.

We use PCs. . .Really old, frustratingly slow PCs. I would rather use a MAC if it meant that I didn't have to deal with the painfully slow, refurbs we have now.

Up until about last week half of our office used PCs (Flash Developers) and half used Macs (designers). Then the big man in charge decided to switch everyone over to Macs, so now we're all sporting Macs, yay!

All PCs, with one lone Mac at my office, and the Mac is too slow to do anything, so I use a PC. I would love a new Mac, at home or work!

I use PCs at work and have a PC laptop at home, mostly because it's more affordable than Macs (in SA, at least).Doesn't mean I don't want a Mac for personal use, no sir.

we started off with pcs then switched to imacs. oh how i miss it. haha. i hope i get a mac at my new job

everyone else in the office uses a PC, but I get to have a mac. I'm that special... and a photographer.

We are a MAC loving workplace. Before I started I had a respect for MACs but after working with MACs for nearly 2 years, I feel in love. I actually don't even know how to use PCs anymore, but I am okay with that!

My school exclusively uses Mac (especially for music classes), but I interned at a company that only used PCs and I nearly slit my wrists. I know how to use a PC well, but there were so many problems with the computers, that I was very unproductive. If I can help it, I won't use PCs ever again. Unless it is an emergency, of course.

My school system has Macs. Hundreds of Macs that are so outdated they can't even run OSX. Macs with USB ports that can't support a flash drive, but that CAN run an external floppy - maybe. Macs with CD drives that can't actually read the CDs. Macs that still have Netscape installed as the only internet option because they can't support any newer browsers. Not that I'm bitter.... I carry a PC laptop with me to work so that I can get something done.

both! the creatives at my job use macs (including me, phew) and the programmers, accounting & admin people use pc's. i've had macs since the very beginning (my first computer was a mac in '84). i'm a designer, and have had to work on pc's at one job in my career. never again. ;-)

PC's at my office but at home it's a mac. I sometimes get confused at work when opening a program or closing it out.

We use Windows. You can't run AutoCad, Microstation, Revit, Act!, or anything else we use besides office on a mac.

we used to be split, some departments had macs, some PCs. thankfully i've always been on a PC. now they're making the switch to PC only. mac is too expensive and PC's are better for our programs, adobe, word, etc.

With the exception of accounting, we're pretty much all Macs. They have become the film industry standard. I'm totally Mac, posting this from my 3g iPhone.

We have both Mac and PCs but I don't go near the PCs. ;)
