The Do It Yourself Wood Keyboard Kit should thrill all those of you who love DIY projects and wooden gadgets. I happen to think it would be a really fun project for geeks and design lovers alike. According to Engadget, the Hacoa DIY keyboard kits, are ready for pre-order for about $300. Would you buy one?

I like the concept, but the fact of the matter is: I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hate this new wood + technology trend. It's so hypocritical--I can just imagine what the idiot who came up with this trend was thinking: "Okay...so wood and lithium batteries TOTALLY go together! YEAAAAAH!!!!" Which is funny considering that a lot of the technological items we have are HARMFUL to the environment. I also don't see the point in killing more trees just to make my computer/cell phone/whatever look snazzy. :/

Wow! $300? What a great idea though. It reminds me of Scrabble tiles...and I LOOOOVE Scrabble. It actually sounds like fun to get to put it together too, I like working with my hands. I think I'll wait until it drops in price though...
