Do You Think Nintendo Will Win the Wii Lawsuit?

It's been less than a week since Nintendo announced it will replace 3.2 million straps on the Wii remotes and the firm of Green Welling LLP has already announced a nation-wide class action lawsuit against the gaming giant for the "defective nature of the [Wii] straps."

Nintendo has said the lawsuit is "completely without merit," and that the move to replace the original straps with thicker upgrades is a suitable response to the perceived deficits.

So, who thinks the case will hold up in court?

I think that there may be an issue with Nintendo's recall of the straps, in that they have admitted a flaw in design. Because it was THEIR fault that the straps broke, not a misuse of the remote, it is their fault that the remotes went flying and tvs were broken etc. (not that i agree with this, i think generally people are dumb hahaha)

I'm sorry but people are stupid. I do have a Wii and neither my son nor I have lost the Wii remote. I've noticed that the ones who end up with the Wii remote flying across the room are people who do not play video games and think that they have to go nuts with it. The only one that has even come close to loosing it was my boyfriend's mother. She does not play console games at all only PC games.

Well, Iv'e never tried it, so it is hard to say whether the fault lies with Nintendo for not making the product durable enough, or with the consumer for using it improperly. It seems like Nintendo knows there is a problem, and is attempting to fix it, so what it the point of the lawsuit anyway? I thought that the idea of a suit was to right a wrong, but it sounds like Nintendo is attempting to do that anyway. Seems frivilous to me.
