Many of you are like me and put your DVD collection out on display, so I don't think many of you find your home tech - TVs, computers, speakers - unattractive, but still, many people like to hide these things behind closed doors.

I love it when gadgets end up enhancing your interior, but I also think it's cool when people figure out a way to keep a TV from interfering in their "look" — receding paintings, armoires with doors, curtains. And I've always been a fan of secretary-style desks, where your laptop can hide inside a little desk. I don't hide anything, but I'd consider something like this hutch from Pottery Barn to break up the visual noise.
What about you, do you hide any of your home technology?

Most things are out in the open (tv, computers, etc). We have a collection of servers that stay in their room, however. We also keep the UPS hidden in the living room.
1no waay.
whats the point in having a beautiful 42" flat screen tv and a dell xps computer (boyfriends a gamer) with a gorgeous 22" monitor if we cant show them off
Alright, im a show off.
2Our living space is too small to have chunky, tech-enclosing pieces so we have a nice slim glass & wood stand for the tv/dvd/ps3 and a lovely sleek West Elm desk for the Mac with no cabinets or hutches bc that would also be too bulky for our living space.
3TV is in an entertainment center that has doors. I like it because when I have music on, or am doing homework I dont have to look at it. It makes the room look more put together when its closed.
4I prefer to have them hidden but in this house they're out in the open.
5our dvd's/vhs/ and cd's however are away in drawers, but the big items like the tv, dvd player, computers etc. are out in the open.
6My iMac, TV, DVD player, HDTV cable box, and pretty much every tech stuff is out in the open. I only have some DVDs and my MacBook put away -- the first in drawers, the second in a laptop case -- to save space, not having enough room in my tiny studio apartment. I also keep my digital camera in a little chic case and my iPod inside an iPod dedicated drawer for the same reasons. I know some people keep their TVs and stereos hidden to keep them from getting too dusty. But like someone here said, what's the point of having the latest gadgets if you're going to keep them hidden?
7All of my stuff is out in the open. It would look a lot neater if it were hidden, though. I would very much like to have something to keep all my tech stuff hidden.
8ima show it all off.
9everything is out in the open apart from my DVDs, which are in small binders.
10My iPod dock is out in the open but I like to keep everything else behind closed doors. I love to be in my living room and not have to look at the t.v. and everything else that goes along with it.
11ditto on limited space.
so, yes, everything's out in the open.
12I keep everything hidden. It seems to ruin the design when you have a plasma screen out next to vintage pieces.
13I geek out all day at work and then some, so I like to keep my tech hidden at home. ALL of it. I need to rest my eyes and brain cells...
14gadgets show how cool you are so why hide them?
15everything is out in the open but if I could afford it I wish I could get some furniture to house and hide TV's and DVD players to break up some of that visual chaos and make everything look more clean and orderly but not in a hospital way. lol
16Most of our technology and gadgets are visible and blend fairly well. However, the wires drive me crazy! I always keep the endless amounts of cords neatly tucked away and hidden.
17mostly out in the open.
