Do You Care Which Site You Buy Your Books From?

International bookseller Borders recently announced that it would be breaking free from Amazon after a seven-year partnership. It's already launched a revamped website that's intended to provide a more "real-world" visual online book-shopping experience — something that Amazon doesn't offer just yet. The new and improved site features a "Magic Shelf," an interactive browsing window that enables users to check out highlighted music, books, and movie titles.

I don't know about you, but when it comes to book shopping, I want to get in, get out, and get the best price (all online, that is). Usually I know exactly what I want, so I couldn't care less about a fancy online shopping experience . . . I base my final site decision solely on the price tag. What about you?

i can't use either of those, but for me i always choose chapters/indigo over amazon, because i always go with a canadian company.

I use Amazon most of the time because I hate to pay for shipping unless I absolutely need something by a certain date.For an actual bookstore, I prefer Barnes and Noble over Borders, but as long as I get books, I'm not too picky :)

I usually prefer brick-and-mortar for book shopping, but for online purchases we usually go through Amazon (though I picked "doesn't matter"), as the hubby has an Amazon credit card that gives us our cashback in the form of Amazon credits. So we occasionally get free stuff from Amazon, since we do the put everything on the card and pay it all off each month thing.

I don't buy books at all. I use a little-known source for free books, audio books, and ebooks. It's called the library. I don't even have to leave my house anymore. I can download digital content right from the library website.

I am an Amazonian all the way but when I want a book NOW, I usually go to Barnes & Noble. The one near me is much better than the Borders.

I used to spend sooo much on books because I was reading about 3 a week. Now I belong to the library in both places where I have homes and that is such a big savings. I fill up my requests ahead of time so that when I arrive I have books waiting.

BookDepository.co.uk is the best - really cheap prices and FREE SHIPPING, Royal Mail from UK! I find the shipping is so much quicker than Amazon to Australia - I usually get my books in less than five working days.

If Borders has a lower price than Amazon, including shipping, then I'll buy from them. Amazon is pretty hard to beat, though.

I would probably just go to the actual Borders bookstore, but if I had to buy it online, I would use Borders' site. Especially since I'm a reward member with them :) But I love Amazon too - I usually go there for all my other needs
