DIY Custom-Painted Purple DS

29

When Shawn Potts of Portland, Oregon, wanted to get his girlfriend to start playing video games, he decided to give an original Nintendo DS a complete makeover. Shawn took apart the entire DS, sanded each piece, and used two coats of primer to cover all of the parts. Since his girlfriend's favorite color is purple, he went with a metallic sparkling purple to coat the DS parts and finished it off with a clear coat for extra shine. He originally wanted to give it to her as a birthday gift, but it ended up being a Christmas gift. I hope she loved it as much as we do! Scroll down for more images. Learn how to transform your DS into a colorful masterpiece by following Shawn's step-by-step instructions.
