Custom-Colored Cell Phones: Totally Geeky or Geek Chic?

Starting next Monday Colorware, the color-customizing gadget experts will be coloring BlackBerry curves, pearls and 8800 series cell phones. Colors that are already posted on the site include red, purple, green and yellow and although the prices aren't posted, The Boy Genius Report guesstimates that they shouldn't be more than $99. Do you like these colored phones? Would you ever get your phone "colorized"?

I love Colorware products. My 30GB iPod video is cotton candy pink, and it's so adorable. They do good work, too, if anyone is wondering, and if you just buy it through Colorware, it's under warranty, too. :)If I could afford to, I'd have all my electronics colored to match (though I'd likely pick a new color).

haha, I'd love to color my phone, but i'd have a hard time picking it. I bought a white chocolate because I couldn't decide on the color! lol

Hmm, the only drawback. Once you get a phone customized, it tampers with your insurance plan, if you have phone on your insurance.

its so cool, but SO expensive. Im saving up to do my iphone, but it costs almost as much as the phone itself! :(

I love Colorware. I got my MacBook Pro pinked and I wanted a pink iPhone but I couldn't wait for them to start doing it - I HAD to have one at release. I thought I'd send it in later to get painted, but I just can't part with it. When my boyfriend's cell phone contract is up, I'm going to give him my iPhone and I'm going to order a Colorware one. :)
