It's probably safe to say Annie Leibovitz doesn't use the iPhone camera for Vogue photo shoots. The iPhone's camera is incredibly basic and comes with plenty of flaws, but use it right and it can make you organized and on-the-ball.

If you're looking to use it for more than remembering where you parked and goofy pics, invest in a few inexpensive apps to improve its functionality and enhance your pics. There are hundreds of choices available at the iTunes store, but here is a handful that you simply must have. Who can say no to improved pics for less than $10? Certainly not me!

Might also want to check out QuickCam. Take photos & video at the same time, infinite zoom (pinch to zoom) and the fastest burst mode anywhere.

ClearCam has a new update out that uses the 4.0 APIs to double resolution. Slick app.

Another app that I was recently impressed by is called Layar If you are a traveller, then this is for you. It puts out information of whatever it sees.. and it is for free! check it out.. definitely recommended!

Hey, Nice article.. thanks! I am into photography, so I try out camera apps a lot. One app has caught my attention recently, called CamKewl. this is one of the best camera apps i've seen so far..very cool animations and well made! i love the shaking part to switch between screens and the b/w and sepia modes.... google maps spoiled me a little and i always missed the pinch zoom in the iphone camera....this app adds that little extra touch! and the accenting is very cool too. StealthCam is probably going to be another must-have when it comes out, especially with the People Of Walmart crowd - I bet a lot more people are going to have the balls to snap a picture of that Walmart creature now that they can disguise their camera... Add one more to the list :-) Power Cam builds on the default Camera app by adding new features such as zoom, steady mode, color filters, and more. Users can zoom up to 4x by using either a pinch gesture or a zoom slider and use steady mode to take images when the phone is in a stable position. The addition of cross hair guides also helps users level and align objects in a picture.
