What Are Your Favorite PS3 Games?

Time to help a reader out! Bethinabox needs help deciding which games to purchase for a new PS3. She posted the following question in our Ask a Geek Girl group:

I'm thinking of getting a PS3 in the next couple of months. Partly because I want a shiny new gaming system, partly for the Blu-Ray capabilities without buying a dedicated Blu-Ray player. But I don't know what games are good. I know I want to get LittleBigPlanet and Mini Ninjas, but what else is good? Something with a good storyline is a must, because I get bored really easily.

Suggestions? Advice? Games you're currently lusting after? Share your picks!

That's awesome that so many of you love Uncharted 1 and 2! I actually animated on both games (my name is even in the credits!). I also did facial animation for Red Dead Redemption :) I still need to PLAY the games though..... I don't own a PS3 yet....

Uncharted 1 & 2, 3D Dot Game Heroes and a game I imported from Japan called Hakuna Matata, now available here as Afrika. It is a great non-violent game that you take photos of African wildlife.

Valkyria Chronicles is a definite should-not-miss for the PS3.

Games that offer best single player ps3 exclusively, in my opinion Heavy Rain is number 1 for me Uncharted 2 3D dot game heros Metal gear solid 4 Heavenly Sword (bit short but i liked it) God of War 3 Infamous (good cole choice gives a better ending) Ratchet and Clank. And soon Mass Effect 2 is gunna hit the ps3, that is just a bonus.

I've really been wishing I had a PS3 so I could play 3D Dot Game Heroes because it's supposed to draw a lot from Link to the Past, and it looks fun and hilarious. Also, this is not supposed to be really having a plot. I think at all, but I've heard really great things about Flower, and at only $10 (I think), it's quite cheap.

Metal Gear Solid 4 Wipeout HD + Fury Expansion LittleBigPlanet Infamous Uncharetd 1 + 2 Resistance 1 + 2 God of War III Heavy Rain ModNation Racers Gran Turismo 5 (In November) Super Stardust HD Blast Factor Trials of Topoq (Eye Required) Warhawk (Pretty intense multi-player only game, lots of fun) That's my list at the moment

Uncharted I and II, i vouch for that. Also: Ratchet and Clank Tools of Destruction or Crack in Time. God of war is....just a bloody, male testosterone filled game about screaming bloody revenge...but that's my opinion.

Kat, LBP is a fantastic game no doubt. I would like to point out that LBP2 is coming out well within the next few month (November). It has racing and puzzle elements now. Image creating your own racer or your version of 'Bejeweled' in LBP =). Other games that are fun imo are the side scrolling fighting games like scott pilgrim and castle crashers. I'm also a fan of the FPS genre....a rarity i suppose lol but if you like FPS by some rare chance, Black Ops is coming out in November as well.

Modnation Racers is a really good game. If you like Mario Kart then you'll definitly love this game. If Mario Kart and Little Big Planet had a baby, it would be exactly this game.
