Barnes & Noble to Provide Free AT&T WiFi

Just one week after unveiling a new eReader and eBooks Store, Barnes & Noble continues to impress by announcing today that they will offer complimentary WiFi access in stores across the country.

What this means is customers can easily download and preview any of the 700,000 eBook titles and opt in to receive personal Barnes & Noble messages, which include coupons to the in-store café, author book signing notifications or where to find a new books in the store. They had me at free.

What it really means is ALL B&N stores in the US only that use ATT for WiFi providing, will now have FREE WiFi on any ATT-provided network that serves that particular store (some stores do not have ATT wifi or any wifi, but use ATT hotspots in the area as surrogates, those area hotspots are already or soon will also be free). So essentially, you are correct. However, some B&N stores do NOT use ATT for WiFi, and those stores are not yet free OR some were, are, or will also be free Wifi soon.

Yeah from the press release it says: The existing AT&T Wi-Fi network at Barnes & Noble has been available to customers since 2005. Now, anybody walking into a Barnes & Noble store anywhere in the country will have complimentary and unlimited access to the network at all store locations. Which, to me, sounds like if I go to B&N with my laptop, I can get wifi for free (FINALLY!) no matter what cell provider I have.

I think you mean that Barnes and Nobles and AT&T to offer free wifi to customers. the article does say - to any customer that visits a Barnes & Noble bookstore nationwide.
