You Don't Have to Sell Me on the 3G iPhone, But I'll Let You Try

I'll observe video coverage of the new 3G iPhone and two dimensional photos on Apple's website to get a sneak peek at my future cell phone. . . so it's icing on the proverbial geeky cake that they've already put an ad together. It's clever and slick, to be expected.

I didn't expect to miss out on a cool new song though, that I'd have no choice but to download. I kind of miss that — but don't worry about me, I'll get my clever-Apple song fix. And until July 11, here's to your 2.0 fix!

I'm attracted, I won't deny that, but it gives me pause that the camera is only 2mp. 5mp has been in cellphones for a while. Also it doesn't look like you can switch out the sim card or the battery, which is gonna make it less than convenient to travel with. I hope they at least ended that practice of limiting it to one service provider only. It's very slick and pretty, but it's unusable for frequent travellers who don't have a load of money to waste on roaming charges, and so want to use a local service at their destination. And it's a very pretty paperweight when you run out of batteries on the road and can't just juice it up with a handy extra battery.
