If you ever find yourself needing to email a large file, but you don't want to deal with long wait times for uploading attachments, just send them through the website YouSendIt. With YouSendIt, you can send high-quality videos, whole albums of music, and a ton of high-resolution photos at once, up to 2GB in size (Gmail's limit is 10 MB).
When you send your files from the YouSendIt site, the person you sent the email to receives a link. By clicking the link, the recipient gets to a page where your file is, so that she can download it to her desktop. The whole process is fast and easy, and you'll even get a confirmation that the file was received in your email inbox. Now start bombarding your BFF with those vacay pics!

3No way, stay away from YouSendIt. They were great back in the day, about two or three years ago, but now they're outshined by a number of other places. SendSpace, RapidShare, MegaUpload - there are a ton of file-hosting services out there that will do the job just as well or better than YSI.
4How do those others outshine YouSendI clarient? I'm just wondering, we use it at work all the time when a client needs a high res photo or they need to send us one.
5Is there any downside? Do they collect email addresses for spamming or anything like that? Is there a charge?

Back when it first came out, yousendit was good but now I prefer SendSpace, MediaFire or MegaUpload - especially MediaFire though, since they keep your files indefinitely.
Oh, and not that it really matters, but the attachment size for gmail was raised a bit ago. Now it's 20MB.

8I use yousendit and haven't had any problems with it either.
I also like transferbigfiles.com, it's free and they don't require you to sign up for an account.
It's still in beta so I occasionally get an error message, but if I just reload the site and try again, it always works.
9yousendit is great, but i've found www.box.net to be better and more user friendly. you can upload 100s of files and sent them out in 1 link.
10I saw another nice website http://www.sendboom.com . You can send and set a password file and it free.

13http://www.shootthefile.com has a very cool feature called 1GB Express that allows you for 1.99 to send a file of up to a 1GB without the need of a monthly or yearly subscription (also available)
14FilePost(http://file-post.net/) can send up to 250m file, but has much functional feature and easy to use.
