i underline when i read books. can't imagine doing that with my mouse.

besides, i regard typography as an important factor that contributes to the pleasure of reading. i don't want to be limited to just three typeface options: verdana, trebuchet ms, and georgia.

While I think I might use this to get through some of the classics (mostly plays as I'm a theater minor and have rarely read any, yikes!), I don't think I'd ever use it to do my for fun reading, or school reading.
When I'm reading for me I like to curl up with the book, I love the feel of it and the smell of it. When I'm reading for school I'm usually taking notes or writing in the book. And at this point with the technology we have readily available I don't see me switching over to completely digital anytime soon.

I read online only for my lit classes when I know I dont want to buy the books. There isnt anything better than the scent of a new book, or turning pages as a story gets more interesting. People reading online are not getting the whole feel of a novel.

I'm not interested in this kind of system, even though I've almost completely switched to reading books on the computer. I've been living in Japan for a few years and it's SO expensive to buy imported books, and they cause so much clutter in my tiny apartment, that I now read everything from Project Gutenberg and other free libraries. However, I don't want to read a book in chunks imposed by someone else. I'd rather get the whole book so I can read as I like.

I like this idea. I do love to underline and dog-ear my pages, but for classics and heftier reading that I don't qualify as a page-turner, this is perfect.

i don't think i would like this. i love books too much...like the actual physical book...i dont even go to the library because i like to buy my own books. ok, i would go to the library more but i get gift cards to borders, amazon and BN for lots of the holidays

na.. books are waaay nicer to read curled up in bed or on the sofa.. not staring at a computer screen.

I love books and like geeksugar I want to be able to do this when I am waiting in line or taking a quick break - beats remembering to carry a book.

I do agree about the new book scent. That's an escape in itself.

I'd be willing to give this a try, if only because I can hide the fact I'm reading something non-work related if it's "hidden" on my computer screen. It's hard to hide a book under my desk at work.

I'm an oldfashioned girl, I love technology but I also really love a handwritten note and a good book. I will never give up real books!

I stare at a screen all day at work. The last thing I want to do is subject my eyes to more of that.

I'm getting my M.S. in Library and Information Science, and while libraries promote all sorts of information technology, nothing can replace a book to hold and read in your lap and turning those pages.

And for me personally, I know when I have to use PDF files to read, my eyes get sore scrolling down the e-pages. I don't think reading books online will ever take the place of reading a real live book in your hands.
