When I first saw Belkin's new laptop hideaway on the Internet, I couldn't help but think. . . meh, as it didn't look overly exciting. But when I got the chance to check it out in person at CES, my opinion quickly changed. With this sturdy little caddy, you can keep your laptop in a handy upright position alongside magazines or a book. And let me tell you, this case can even withstand the weight of a hardcover book without falling over. The hideaway is set to go on sale this month and will be priced at $50. Would this be something you would use? Or would you rather stick with your everyday laptop bag?

I think it's a great idea! I would probably like one if it was a little more...like mroe colours or designs...something that didn't look like a trash can!
1I like the idea, but I am uncertain about the security. Having your laptop case open like that just shows people what your carrying.
2hiding it in a trash can? lolz
3I would just like this at home. My daughter likes to try to play with my laptop so to have a place to put it away...It would easily fit under the desk and not be a problem...
4Not really a bit fan of the style. But I totally agree with SkinnyMarie about the security issue, last thing I want is to advertise my laptop to complete strangers in the street!

6woops, sorry about the double post! :/
7I have a few laptops. One for work, one for my side biz and one mac for me. I have one desk. Just by the numbers, I need this product beside my desk. And the color blends with my decor. I WILL purchase this product. Besides, I have other Belkin products and I support the brand.
8i love it because it would work well with having to carry books for school and what not. i have marker pads, copy paper, pens, pencils galore i carry to classevery day and i need something sturdy like that.
and it would be bad to advertise on the street though, and that's why i don't use laptop bags, i use stuff that doens't look like a laptop bag.
9well, i have to say, ALL laptops bags look like laptop bags, so the security thing is blown right there. people know when you have a comp in your bag. the only fault i have with this is that strap to carry it isn't very versatile. it doesn't look comfy enough to put over the shoulder, and carrying a comp in the hand is going to get old.
i love the design though, it's adorable. if i was just transporting it to and from in a car, it'd be great. not good for transit commuting though.
10I have been looking for something like this. Thanks Sugar!
11It's simple. It's classy. I like it. :]
12I really like the design.. from what I can see. It's a lot more feminine and simple compared to allot that are the market. I think with a skin over the laptop as well it would be more secure and less obvious. I also like it for home.. Much tidier by the sofa!
13love the idea of it -would like to see in person.
14I always just lean my laptop up against the edge of the couch, and every now and then you get the slide/crunch we never want to hear. So far no actual damage, but this would keep things safer.
It's so sleek! Love the two-tone colors! I think it'd be perfect if it had a zip close or a flap.
15I usually like things that don't scream "laptop inside" so this looks good!
16Good idea...I've been on the market for a cute laptop sleeve, but that won't change the fact that my mac's pretty much permanent residence is on my bed. This would give me a handy and protected place to put it away.
17I'm not sure, I'd probably need to see it in person.
18I love it, it's a great Idia to keep you laptop safe in a chic bag when you are out. but I think that 50$ is not a good prie
19I sort of like the look of it but I am not sure I would use it, wonder if it holds a 17" laptop??
20I like the look of it for an at-home storage solution, but I wouldn't want my laptop so exposed when I take it places. I'd rather have a bag with a fold over flap and some zippers.
21I likey! I have a laptop bag for using on the go, but this little thing would be great to keep in the house. My laptop is always in my family room and I've been looking for something to "hide" the laptop and keep it safe.
22no thank you!
23i like it - my laptop bag always falls down when it is next to my desk and i'd be afraid to store my lappy in it if i wanted my desk clear for a spell.
24I think it looks like a magazine rack, which is why I love it! My laptop lives on the coffee table most of the time, but when we have people over or whatever and I don't want folks to be tripping over the cord (or spilling their drinks on my computer), I'm always at a loss for a safe place to put it that will be out of the way but easily accessible in a second if we need to settle a debate about the best way to make an Old Fashioned or something
This looks
perfect - it can sit by my couch and hold my "currently reading" books and mags and keep my laptop out of the way, too! I wouldn't replace my normal laptop carry bag with it, though.
25i think that it's a cute idea - i should get that for my apartment because i just have my laptop on the couch and my boyfriend's is on the coffee table.
26Why would I want a laptop carrier that looks like a magazine rack? I immediately thought that it was a magazine rack. I definitely would not pay $50 for that. I got a Swiss Gear laptop bag from Staples for about $30 and I'm very happy with it.
27I like it, it's cute! I would buy it if I had a laptop and if the price was a bit cheaper. Looks very handy indeed.
28I like the simplicity of the design...and it isn't schlub like many bags are.
29I do PR at Belkin, so just want to clarify that the Laptop Hideaway is designed to be for use in your house, and not so much as a carrying case outside the home. We see it placed in your living room next to your couch, storing your laptop, magazines, power supplies, and other miscellaneous doo-dads. Love the comments; keep 'em coming!
30Well.. then the design's perfect.. That's what I've been looking for.
We have laptop and cables everywhere at home.. and there's always the occasional crunch from when it fall's over so this is perfect! x
31I would love this in my house. Next to the bed/couch/comfy chair. Count me in!
32I don't like it very much. I wouldn't carry it around, and at home, my laptop is always out on the table, not put away in a bag. So, this one is not for me.
331. All I wanted to do was a leave a comment, why do I have to fill out a million page registration form!?! ANNOYING!
2. Love it! Would like to place an order but I have a 17" laptop which won't fit.
Is there
anything similar for 17" laptops? I love my big screen...
34i've seen this product in person and love it!
35on the negative side it only fits a 15.4" laptop.
price is 29.99 at target.com
hope this helps! : )
