It's hard to believe that Mario has endured so many changes in his power-ups over the years! This interesting power-up evolution chart which was featured on TechEBlog, displays Mario in most of his power-up personas. Some of my faves include the froggy suit and Kuribo's Shoe from Super Mario Bros. 3 as well as the helicopter in Super Mario Bros. for Game Boy. I'm just about to save the princess in the New Super Mario Bros for the Nintendo DS and although it's not on this chart, I'd have to say that the mega mushroom that supersizes Mario is now my all-time fave.

1i saw this on geekologie.com with another video of the evolution, and it's a great idea. but i think it could have been done better, or at least i wish i could read the image. i kind of don't get how it's organized. i know where they are all from too, i just wish i could read the poster!

I'm not even sure what my favorite is...I love the frog suit, tanooki and shoe from Super Mario 3 and the feather/cape from Super Mario World are my favorites. But the old school Super Mario 1 and 2 rock as well!

9I'm a fan of the teddy bear costume from Mario Bros. 3 too, though I can't wait to get to the bee costume in Galaxy (I just got this for Christmas.) I've always wondered what they were smoking to come up with some of these things...
