The fact that my aunt prints up my emails and takes them over to my grandparents house made me realize that the following product would work wonders in my family. Presto is a great new service that is designed for people who don't use a computer or go online.
How it works: Using any email account, family and friends can send email and photos to a HP Printing Mailbox user (with its own individual email address) and Presto will convert regular emails into Presto Mail — easy-to-read color printouts. All you have to do is plug the printing mailbox into a power outlet and an existing ordinary phone jack and insert paper and an ink cartridge. Within a few minutes your parents or grandparents will have beautifully printed emails to read.
If you're worried about set-up and all that jazz (which they claim is quite simple), you can either do it from your own PC through the Presto site or call one of their representatives to do it over the phone. The HP Printing Mailbox is $100 and the monthly service is $10. Definitely a great way to stay in touch!

1This would be perfect for my grandparents, they dont use a computer and they hate talking on the phone so this would be a great way to keep in touch with them. i live next door to them so i see them everyday, but other ppl in my family would love for them to have this.

I guess my biggest reservation is they live two hours away and I can't just jet over there to clear a paper jam or change an ink cartridge 
9I guess I can see it being useful for some things, otherwise, why not just call on the phone to respond to the emails?
10I think it's a great way to get some less technically inclined people to update their lives. I guess you cold use the phone but this makes it much easier to share pictures and letters and ll kinds of things with the more stubborn branches of your family and it's really not that expensive if you look at it long term
11Yipes, what about the cost of ink cartridge replacements if a spammer gets a hold of the the address? Or even if someone fowards one of those chain letters that rack up probably 10 pages worth of signatures?
I hope this has some superb spam protection to go along with it.
12Meh. I don't have any grandparents or anyone that close so this wouldn't benefit me. I would rather just type a letter, print it, then mail it if I needed to.
