All the other monitor mirrors on the market seem like novelty, vanity pieces in comparison to the Chimp Monitor Mirror ($9.99).
While the device does include a mirror, it seems to be made for those of us who are convinced our coworkers and bosses like to sneak up on us, not just the crowd that wants to have a handy lip-gloss mirror.
It's a convex mirror (3 inches in diameter) that fits easily on either corner of your monitor with accompanying Velcro. It comes in black or white.

i could use one of these. my lil cousin always trys to look over my shoulder while im on the computer. she tries to see wat im getting ppl for xmas etc.
1Geeky. And pointless.
2I would use this. I get started really easily, so if I saw them before they were coming, then it would be a good thing.
3I think it's cute but if you honestly need it to see if your bosses are sneeking up on you than shouldnt you be asking yourself what are you doing that they have to sneek up on you for.
4I have one already in my cube as do quite a few folks. I like to see who is behind me. I used to have a very nosey boss and I liked to see when he was coming....
5KristinDaBomb - totally not pointless. When you sit with your back to a walkway, it is tempting to turn around every time someone walks by so that you can see who it is and if you need their attention. With a rearview mirror, you don't have to turn, a quick glance does the trick, a lot less impactive on your work day. And, this one is way cuter than any out there that I've seen. It won't stick out on my black monitor.
judylai81 - you shouldn't ask yourself why people need to sneak up on you - others are always curious about what you do, even when you work on confidential documents and even if you are taking care of a personal issue while at work (you are allowed 2-10 minute breaks a day in my state). Still none of their business, and really nice to know who is behind you.
Geek - nice find! Thanks for sharing! Just added this to my Christmas wishlist.
6ditto monster.
7i've got one.
very handy indeed.
so damn cool!!! I need one at work!!!!! LOL
8I find a mirror very handy as I sit with my back to the walkway too and constantly have people walk up behind me. You can find a blindspot mirror at an auto store or the auto dept. of a box store like Wal-Mart that does the same thing and is cheaper.
9I agree it's pointless, I've never found a need for one.
10I *LOVE* my C.H.I.M.P. love love love love love.
I've been using them for years. When you have a desk that faces
the wall, it's wonderful to know when someone's walking up behind
you. 10x as important when you listen to music with headphones
and don't necessarily always hear someone approaching, but seeing
someone walk up out of the corner of your eye will grab your attention.
I'd go completely crazy if it weren't for my chimp.
The title says "chip", but it's "chiMp"! Stands for
11"Chimp Has Invincible Monkey Powers"! And it really does.
I could have so used this at my last job!!
12ha! very funny!!
13Hey, it satiates the overly-caffeinated paranoid in all of us
