Admit it: numbers matter. Which is why you spend all day sending Facebook friend requests to people you barely know, met once at a party, or who is a friend of a real friend who stood next to you at a concert. Facebook has its general standards, like you should probably actually know the person you're friending, but on Twitter, all bets are off. One of the great things about Twitter is that you can follow people you don't know, but find interesting. Twitter is especially great if you have a business or blog you're trying to promote, but in keeping with Twitter etiquette, you shouldn't spam to get those precious followers. So how do you get that number up? Here's a few ways, without annoying the crap out of everyone else.
