Let’s face it, without headphones your iPod is just a cute little gadget. If you want to use it for what it’s really made for – providing a real reason to sing in the street and covering the incessant noise of your co-workers’ chatter – you’re going to need some good headphones.
Apple iPod Earphones
Described as sleeker than previous models, the standard "earbud" iPod earphones, $44.99, are still a favorite among iPodmeisters. Geek tip: If your stock headphones break, you should be able to bring them in to an Apple store for a complimentary replacement. Shhh don't tell anyone.

Thanks geeksugar! I am in dire need of better ear buds. I think I will put one of these on my Christmas list.
1Wait!! I bought a pair of those Apple iPod Earphones, and unless you have just *exactly* the right ear shape, they are TERRIBLE. I tried everything to get them to fit in my ear, and they just didn't work. What a waste of money!! Check out all the negative reviews.
2brian gave me a pair of the earbuds. they have a small, medium and large fitting that goes on em. apparently i have a very narrow ear canal, cause even with the narrowest, i still can't really fit em in my ear. but good enough and they do sound good.
3I am a huge fan of the Etymotic 6i Isolator Earphones. They are also earbuds, but they seal so snugly to your ears that they cancel out outside noise (even airplanes!) like a stellar pair of earplugs. They are slightly less expensive than the Shures and, I think, better.
4Hey Buzz, I'll have to try those. I'm always looking for airplane-worthy headphones.
5I have the Apple earphones (the first choice above). I LOVE them! They are a billion times better than the crappy ones that come with the ipod.
6every single time i get ear buds they irritate my ear and they dont fit, i hope those sony ones will fix the problem
7i know he thinks you're fine and stuff but does he know how to wind you up?
These are nice.
8The headphones I personally think are best, are the Skullcandy Smokin' Buds. They're great inner ear phones with three different sizes of buds just like the Apple pair, but they're better fitting IMHO. They're the only pair I've been able to keep for over a year without them shorting out and were only $20!
