While we've been enjoying the stylish fashions and gadgets on Gossip Girl — and the fact that the show is about a blogger! - some fans have started enjoying Gossip Girl's neighborhood in Second Life experience called "The Upper East Side."
In case you didn't know, Second Life is a 3D virtual world entirely built and owned by its residents. It opened to the public in 2003, and is now "inhabited" by millions of residents from around the globe. The Upper East Side community allows you to build and customize your avatar, have a dance party with friends, play games, watch clips and full episodes of the show. From what I can tell, it's much like the Virtual Worlds MTV has set up for shows like The Hills, Newport Harbor and Laguna Beach, only it exists in the Second Life platform.
The virtual Gossip Girl world looks like the set of the television show, with the same streets, the same hot spots, and even the same characters. To try it out you just need to download the software, go through a brief orientation, and start your "second life." Who knew geek was so chic?

I can't help loving Gossip Girls.
1Radical
2it look cool , i must try this!
3I actually downloaded Second Life a few days ago because of all the buzz I've been hearing about it but I was less than impressed. If EA Games would take The Sims platform and open it up in the same way Second Life is, it would be PERFECT.
4Neat!
5Sort of strange.
6I am a big SIMS fan and I can tell you that this platform doesn't compare, it's so crappy compared to the Sims.
7Comparing the Sims to Second Life is like comparing a stick drawing to the Mona Lisa. People that prefer the Sims to Second Life like it simple and with little imagination or input. The Sims doesn't allow the same artistic or technological freedom. I have played both, and Second Life is far more interesting and innovative.
To call Second Life crappy is to admit you don't have the patience, skill or imagination to understand it.
8i love it , its sorta of like virtual mtv.

BUT BETTER LOVE GG
Comparing The Sims to Second Life is like comparing the old Atari "Pong" to Wii. I designed skins, clothing, and homes for The Sims for YEARS. I was well known in the community and received a personal invitation pre-beta to be involved in The Sims Online.
Second Life is far more advanced, requires much more in terms of computer resources, and has a much more complicated design process.
The original basis for The Sims Online was suppose to allow for user created content, and if they had held true to that promise....Second Life would not exist. They failed with The Sims Online by not allowing that technology and their platform became stale and people grew bored.
Second Life is still growing and evolving because of the creative people who contribute to it and the wonderful ability to interact.
10hey poeple i am new here
11I don't understand. In order to play gossip girl in second life, you must register on www.secondlife.com? and if yes, how do you get to play gossip girl? I am a kaneva player but I saw this gossip girl in second life so I installed second life and I didn't like it and there was no gossip.
