Isn't it always the case that whenever you make it to the airport 2 hours before a flight, the flight is often delayed? Or you offer to pick someone up from the airport only to learn that his or her flight has been canceled? From my experience with flight info websites, I'd have to say that this one is by far the best—definitely saving you lots of airport headaches!
With FlightStats you can get every detail about your next flight via email and SMS. Featured on lifehacker, FlightStats includes up to the minute flight info, weather updates and enroute flight maps.
To get started, all you have to do is open a free account and enter your flight number(s). FlightStat will then work its magic, providing you with tons of info about delays, security times and more.

This is cool! I've run into all those problems before, I'll have to remember this site.
1*sigh* I bookmarked this in the website of the day group about six months ago....oh well, it is a great site!
2Once I had a flight that was supposed to leave at like 6:30 in the morning, but when I got there it had been delayed 6 hours. Then they delayed it another couple of hours (twice) until it finally ended up leaving 10 hours later.
I ended up going back home and sleeping, but a lot of the people on the plane had to stay at the airport the entire time. Not so fun for them.
Ever since then I've always called and checked obsessively to make sure my flight is still on time!
3Thanks for this site. I've also used http://www.flightview.com and http://www.flightaware.com Only problem is...one of them showed my bf's plane overshooting the runway and in the ocean on one of the flights!!! I guess the tracker missed LAX...luckily the plane didn't.
They also get their data a bit after everything has happened so int he case of some airlines, I just check their site for info.
4This is really helpful, thanks!
5Very cool!
