Are you an earphone-phobe? You know, someone who suffers anxiety or pain when something is placed in the ear? Whether or not that's an actual medical condition is beyond my expertise, but here at geeksugar, we are all about solving tech dilemmas — even if it includes being an earphone-phobe! Gizmodo has just revealed some unique earbud holders called lobies, which fit any size of earbuds. Each lobie wraps around your earbuds and then around your ear so you don't actually need to place earphones in your ear. Don't even get me started on sound quality, comfort level, and overall annoying factor. Lobies cost $12 each. Please let me know if there's anyone out there who would find these useful! These are fantastic! Earbuds, aside from generally having really lousy sound quality, are terrible for your hearing. I personally find buds to be too big, and painful (I have tiny ears).
Very cute.
1Meh. I personally hate the earbuds that clamp on to your ear. After a while, they start to hurt my ears.
Besides, earbuds are bad for your hearing--they concentrate the sound, which, over time, causes more damage than headphones.
Then again, no one really cares. I use earbuds, anyway. I think I have a slight form of tinnitus--I occasionally hear a ringing.
Anyway, I'm rambling.
Bottom line: No, I'm not interested. o.o;;
2Earbuds never fit in my ears..I can never find a good pair..but theyre portable unlike most..with these I can still keep them portable but have comfort! what a thought!
3I love them!I can never get earbuds to stay in place. I either have to wedge them in and deal with the pain, or they fall out at the slightest brush of the cord. Definitely a great idea.
4Haha. You really summed it up perfectly, geek. this product perplexes me.
5Also, earbuds never fit in my ears either. That is, until I got the most wonderful earbuds ever: the Etymotic 6isolator headphones.
6Yeah gonna pass on these
7I thought I was the only one with a small ear-canal opening!!! earphones NEVER fit my ears...these look cool. I like them!!!
8*earbuds
9I'm not sure how I feel about these. I think that ear buds are annoying. They never stay in when I'm working out. Maybe these will help since they go over the ear.
10Finally something for me.. I have realllly small ears so it's hard to find earphones that fit!
11earphones never fit in my ears, either. I wouldn't use these, though, they seem like more trouble than they're worth. I'd rather use a headset.
12cute, but not necessary..
13Earbuds are SO painful for me, I have to use headphones to fit over the ear. So these would be useful.
14My earbuds always pop out when I'm wearing hats/earmuffs in the winter. These look like they could work out for me while I'm walking from the train to work in that wonderful Chicago wind.
15interesting.... this might actually solve my problem of always having trouble finding ear buds that stay in my ear while also aiding in saving my hearing! i'm not sure about the overall look though... the colours really turn me off.
16I don't think the earbuds will sound any better outside of your ear...
17Earbuds tend to pop out of my ears and also tend to hurt after a while, so this would be a nice solution. However, I'd rather just use a pair of headphones.
18They're nice colored. I have to say though, i wouldn't like them if I didn't have such tiny, no-earbuds-ever-fit ears.
19Nope, not for me. The sound quality has to be horrible as well!
20I'm not sure, I know that I would prefer these over earbuds, b/c earbuds always fall out of my ears and they annoy me after a little while, but this type that clamps over your ear usually begins to hurt my ears too after a while. So, I guess I would have to try this out to know for sure.
21really, i just wish i could find an inexpensive but relatively small set of headphones rather than the earbuds which always come out of my ears - but are way better than this odd contraption!
