I had to do a double take when I learned that this AMP speaker system by Pieter Maes could also be used as a desk. Is it just me or does the white laptop look like a DS Lite? I literally thought the desk was two feet tall and totally impractical—I could easily throw in a Zoolander quote here but I'll keep this one kind. Featured on Gizmodo, the AMP speaker works with both iPod's and laptops. With an internal amplifier, all you need to do is hook up your portable music device via the audio jack and start playing your music. Considering this is actually a decent sized desk, it gets two thumbs up in my book. No word on pricing. What do you think? Let me know below!

I think it's amazing. Great for a modern apartment; if your workspace has to be in your entertainment space, why not make them both ten times cooler? Much nicer than a jumble of wires connecting your friends' ipods to your clunky stereo.
Approved!
1It looks so thick that it might be a nuisance, and it doesn't have any drawers, I don't think it'd be the desk for me.
2cute
3its great looking but as a desk.. it doesnt look like you could put your legs under it.... and yeah theres no storage which means you'd fill it up with crap and it wouldnt be pretty anymore.
4Looks nice... maybe you can adjust the height of it beansandsyke? True, no storage space.
5I like it but think that any amount of bass would really make it vibrate, that would be bad for your hard drive in your computer.
6I'll pass
7i must say the concept is quite clean. It's a nice way to clear up speaker clutter on your desk if it's hard for you to place the speakers in a chic way. however, I think the subwoofer should be be external so it doesn't rattle the table too much
8For the bachlorette who likes to throw parties. Me love.
9I agree with macgirl, also it looks like half of the things I like to do near my computer and on desks [eat, put drinks down that tend to leave condensation] could possibly make everything go very badly. It looks to easy to break or destroy for the modern day klutz.
10i don't like it but i bookmarked it because it is interesting.
11I definitely agree. Another concern I had was if I accidentally spilled something on the desk which would in turn, damage the speakers.
12I think it's a great idea too
13I'm not sure what to think...
14no way, its huge!
15I think its really cute, but like some of you mentioned, what happens if there is a spill...there goes the speakers. Still, for a person who doesn't have a lot of space of uses a lot of MP3's that desk would be really great.
16It could work for alot of places, and with a lot of people, but not mine.
Maybe a more modern space.
Very awesome idea, though!
17Yeah, the spill factor makes me not want to buy it.
18I like it, provided it is regulation size!
19Cool idea. Just don't eat or drink on it!
i think it's a good start...need to work out the details like size, storage, possible spills. otherwise, i like it jus in terms of style. (wow, all words starting with S...totally not intentional)
