Cybercrime and drug trade are arguably two of the most talked about and elusive types of crime because both are incredibly hard to catch and measure. While drug trade has been glamorized in the media for being a quick and dramatic way to make money (think Showtime's Weeds), identity theft and cybercrime in general have become increasingly common and lucrative. Has cybercrime surpassed drug trade in terms of profitability, or is drug trade still the top illegal money maker?

Yay I knew it. I would rather know that drugs were more lucrative because they don't victimize innocent people. Just out of family members I know 3 people who have had money charged onto their cards for amounts over $4000. Not right!
1Hmmm I dunno about this one...you make LOTS of money in the drug trade.
2That's scary
3albeit they will never really have an accurate number on the money illegal drug trafficking actually pulls in, but you HAVE to go with cybercrime....i mean, it seems a little easier to swap out some ones and zeros on a computer than smuggling in 100,000+ kilos of lord knows what ;D
4I agree. if done properly you can make alot more money and quicker with cybercrime. You also don't have to rely as much on other people to make your money.
5How should I know?
