If you're a garage sale junkie (no pun intended), there's a site called gsalr that provides a list of garage sales, local estate sales, and multi-family yard sales in cities across the U.S. Each garage sale is located on a map and described, so you'll know exactly what's for sale and where it is — kinda like a local classified ad, but much better! There is also a trip planner so you can build a list of garage sales you would like to visit, and then plan your route for getting to them.

I know that this long list looks scary, but trust me, once you get the hang of it, it'll be a snap the second time around.
- First of all, join the Website of the Day group
- Click "Create and Share!" on the left hand side
- Choose "Blog"
- Give your photo a Title
- Leave the category as "general"
- Change the channel to "technology and gadgets"
- Add keyword(s) (for example mine for this photo was "Website of the Day")
- Click on the "Add Image" link below the "body" box
- A popup window will happen - click on "Browse" to find your image on your computer
- Once you have the image chosen, click "Submit"
- The popup will show you your image, choose size: "normal" - if you want, you can give it a title (which will show up as a caption)
- Click "Insert" and the popup will go away
- Your "body" box will now have some text in it. Leave it as is. If you want to add some text before the picture telling me why you love the website, do it before the code that has appeared.
- Click Submit

ooh! this is smart!
1little too geeky for me. i'd leave it.
2I think this is great. I used to go to lots of garage sales, but I stopped because they are so hard to track down and map when you live in a city.
3Now, this is handy.

7very cool. the estate sales would be great, especially. i don't drive around or walk around neighbourhoods much so never find out about garage sales. incidentally, i need to get things listed myself for a "leaving the country and never coming back sale" in the next 2 months.
8Handy if you need vintage things to redecorate something in your home or office, and dob't want to hunt for the items.
9I love this! I grew up with a mother who was a HUGE yard sale junkie and she passed it on to me. I will be using this!
10gotta love garage sales!
11I use to spend hours searching on-line classified adds for garage sales in my area. I would then plot them out on Google Maps and manually develop a "trip plan" so I could hit as many as possible without wasting too much gas. This site does all of this with just a click of the mouse. This is a MUST for anyone who even rarely goes to garage sales. It's a HUGH time saver!
