Local TV stations may soon have the ability to broadcast live TV straight to your cell phone. Unlike YouTube, the service won't be on-demand. Instead, you'll be able to tune into live local television on your phone while stations will be able to offer both free and paid channels. Obviously, the technology won't work on existing mobile phones, but LG, Samsung, and Dell have already released prototype devices. And it's about time — this technology is already a huge hit in Japan!
With services like DVR and TV on-demand changing, this technology might breathe new life into broadcast TV. Would you buy a new gadget and use this service?

In a pinch I might, but I think a screen that small would bug me after a little while. I definitely wouldn't rely on it
1depends how much it's going to cost. i would love to be able to watch tv on my commute, during my breaks at school, and maybe in class
2Live streaming TV is already available on the BlackBerry using SPB TV. More local content would make this one of my favorite applications.
3Absolutely. Then I wouldn't have had to miss the Yankees kicking butt last night and tonight.
4I'd like to have the option available, but I don't know how often I'd use it.
5My mother has one. It's a one of those bootleg nokia phones from china that has a t.v., dual sim capabilities, touch screen etc. The quality of the phone is fine if you're not attached to syncing features other phones have and my mom likes being able to watch the news while on the road. I think she bought it under $100 (converting one currency to another anyway.)
