You already know that Facebook can make you jealous in a relationship, status updates can cause competition, and it can even cause your grades to drop. But can it land you in prison?

According to law enforcement in Tennessee, it can. I just learned about a woman who was arrested for a Facebook poke. Turns out, the poke broke an order of protection stating, “no telephoning, contacting or otherwise communicating with the petitioner.”
The guilty party faces up to a month in jail and a $2,500 fine. What do you think?

Yes. If a peace or protective order states that the defendant "may not contact/ communicate with" the petitioner, a 'poke' would be a violation.
That said, it may be difficult to prove that the defendant is the one who 'poked' the petitioner.
1why wouldn't the victim have this person blocked on fb?
2I agree, why would the victim still have that tie to the woman on facebook? Seems ridiculous.
3Maybe they deleted her as a friend but didn't think to/didnt know how to block her.
