Companies and TV networks are getting quite clever when it comes to creating commercials that blend well with the show it's airing with. We already know that people aren't watching commercials during popular shows, so it makes sense that companies are using some smart tactics to get people to watch — and not fast forward through — its commercials. Sprint is doing just that by teaming up with Desperate Housewives to launch seven commercials that were actually written and directed by Desperate Housewives employees. Here's the first one, which I actually saw because I was fooled to thinking it was apart of the show! Gotta love the racy text message and Palm Pre cameo.

Bottega Veneta
cute!
i'm so dumb, when the message tone went off, i looked at my phone.
but yea, this was a cute commercial.
1smart on their part. first commercials ive watched in a long time.
2I dont care what program i'm watching, the ad is for a national company not a sleaze company and i thought it was totally inappropriate for any audience.
3.... Okay, grandma. *rolls eyes*
The commercials are completely appropriate for the audience that are supposed to be watching that show.
4There is a difference between watching a television show that deals with touchy subject matter, and watching a 30 second commercial by a huge company that chooses to promote adultery. I love the dis-functional families of desperate housewives, and yet was completely offended by the SPRINT commercials.
5As a woman who discovered her husband was having an affair from his phone, I can tell you these commercials cause me and everyone else struggling with the effects on an affair tremendous pain,
6As a woman who recently experienced the total devastation caused by an affair for me and my young children and the rest of my family. I find these commercials totally heartless. Will Sprint sponsor commercials and make light of situations such as drunk driving, spousal abuse, rape and other horrible experiences for the people experiencing it. I actually called Sprint and asked one of its PR people why they would sponsor something like this and I got the answer that they would just pass it on. I asked to get out of my contract with them because I couldn't support a company that would make light of an affair through sponsorship--it didn't take them five minutes to say they wouldn't let me out. I guess we know it is all about money for Sprint and they don't care who they hurt!
7I do not like the idea that you make light of having affairs. Morals mean nothing to society anymore and then Sprint is out there promoting it. It is a very painful thing for women that have had this done to them.
