TV networks, don't hate me — but I barely ever watch commercials. This is probably because my DVR is always full, so whenever I do watch a show, I feel the need to quickly get through it as fast as possible so I can delete it and move on to the next one!
A majority of you said that you occasionally watch commercials even with a DVR, but did you know that nearly all shows that won Emmys this year are more likely to have their commercials skipped over? That's right, according to the New York Times, 30 Rock was the only exception among the group (which was blamed on NBC's creative ad placements).

Of course I fast forward the commercials! I love my Tivo.
1People don't want to watch commercials? Weird. I still end up sitting through a lot of commercials, but most of the time I can recall the commercial but not the product it was advertising... How effective is that, anyway?
2I skip over commercials all the time. Sometimes it's because I don't want my show interrupted - they're like mini-movies.
3Other times, I do it so that I can get through a show faster because there is something else I want to watch too.
That is really interesting. I am with you geek - I never watch commercials.
4I love taping my favorite shows for two reasons.
1) I can watch them on my own time
52) I can skip commercials
Haven't watched a commercial in years... can't stand em. In fact if the show live, I'll tape it first just so I can skip em later.
6it's called a mute button. (I don't have tivo) in my house during a commercial you will usually hear me yell MUTE until someone hits it. I really hate commercials and their brainwashing tactics. I don't think I've sat through and watched an entire commercial break since 2003.

7I hate commercials. At my mother's house, she records everything they watch reguraly and always fast forwards, and i very often pause whatever I'm watching and go do something else, walk the dogs, do a chore, etc so that there is enough time even on live tv to fast forward through the commercials. i HATE them.
